Denali morning to Palmer afternoon

Sometimes you just luck out. It's one of the reasons I wanted to do a long trip, with no reservations, so that I could take advantage of whatever came along. This was one of those days.

Morning dawned. It was definitely chilly. I am now using the down Superlight bag that Fran used when she was here. The polyester bag just wasn't cutting it anymore. I'm good down to about 30° F (freezing), but if it gets any colder, I am going to have to think about breaking out the winter bag.

Most mornings are as lazy as I'd like them to be, but when I realized that it was as clear as it had been last night, and that the sunrise was illuminating Denali, I threw the Superlight off, wriggled into my boots, and ran out to take the sunrise picture.

It was one of those days... the scenery was magnificent. I knew that I had to get moving in order to make it to Palmer before the post office closed at noon, but it was a bit tough to tear myself away from the spectacular sight of Denali in glorious, clear view.

At Denali View South, I met Axel again.
